Call now, not tomorrow
What counts as an emergency.
If any of these is happening right now, it is worth a phone call rather than a form. A blocked main line does not clear itself, and every fixture in the house drains into it.
- Backups
- Water at a floor drain
- Sewer odors
- Gurgling pipes
- Every drain in the house slow at once
- A grease-heavy kitchen line stopped mid service
A single slow sink is not an emergency. It is still worth fixing, and drain clearing covers it.

While you wait
What to do before the truck arrives.
None of this fixes the blockage. It keeps the water where you can see it and keeps the damage small.
- Stop running water. No taps, no shower, no dishwasher, no washing machine, and stop flushing. Everything you run goes to the same blocked line and comes back up at the lowest opening.
- Tell everyone else in the building to do the same. One flush upstairs undoes it.
- If water is still rising with nothing running, shut off the water supply at the main shut-off valve. It is usually where the supply line enters the house, often near the water heater or the front foundation wall.
- Do not pour chemical drain cleaner down it. Chemical drain cleaners can damage pipes and rarely fix the actual blockage, and they make the line dangerous for the person who has to open it.
- Move what you can off the floor around the drain, and keep people and pets out of standing water. Sewage water is not clean water.
- If the backup is anywhere near an electrical outlet, a furnace, or a water heater, do not wade in. Stay out of the room and say so when you call.
- Take a photo or a short video of what is happening. It helps on the phone and it helps with insurance later.
Published price
Hydro jetting: $450-$800. Snaking: $150-$300.
These are the same two ranges published on our FAQ page, in the same comparison. Snaking punches a hole through the clog and is often temporary. Hydro jetting cleans the full pipe wall and is long-lasting. Which one your line needs is what the camera inspection answers, and we respond promptly with an estimate before work starts.
| Feature | Hydro Jetting | Snaking |
|---|---|---|
| Cleaning | Full pipe wall cleaning | Punches a hole through clog |
| Best for | Recurring clogs, grease, roots | Simple, one-time clogs |
| Longevity | Long-lasting | Often temporary |
| Cost | $450-$800 | $150-$300 |
On arrival
What happens when we get there.
The same four steps as any other job, in the same order. Nothing gets skipped because it is late.
- Camera inspection. A high-resolution camera and locator confirm what is in the line, where it is, and how deep, so nobody is guessing.
- High-pressure jetting. Trailer-mounted jetter, up to 4,000 PSI, sized to your line, from 1 inch to 12 inches and up.
- Full pipe wall cleaning. Grease, scale, sludge, and small roots come off the wall and out of the line, restoring full pipe diameter.
- Final verification. The camera goes back in so you can see the clean, full-diameter line before we leave.
Severe root intrusion may require additional repair, and the camera is how you find that out before you spend money on the wrong fix. The full explanation is on the hydro jetting page and the camera inspection page.
